I’m Vedant Dhingra, an optometrist and entrepreneur passionate about building accessible, scalable solutions for vision care. I co-founded DrishtiKit, a portable eye screening kit designed to make mass vision testing simple and affordable for communities with limited access to clinical infrastructure. Alongside this, I lead Jay Optical, a growing optical practice focused on quality, affordability, and outreach-based care, and Sightly, an innovation initiative developing assistive and sensory learning tools for children with visual impairment. As Retail Operations Head at Jay Optical, I’ve overseen the end-to-end management of optical retail operations from inventory and supply chain optimization to patient experience, workforce training, and digital transformation. Under my leadership, Jay Optical expanded its footprint and streamlined its clinical-retail workflow, integrating eye testing, dispensing, and follow-up care into a cohesive service model. The store was also honored with the ZEISS You&Eye Award, becoming the only optical retail outlet in Madhya Pradesh to receive this national recognition. My focus has always been on building scalable retail systems that combine affordability, precision, and patient trust ensuring that every pair of glasses delivered represents both clinical accuracy and community impact.

Sightly is an intelligent recommendation algorithm I developed to enhance patient awareness and decision-making in eyewear selection. It educates users about different types of spectacle lenses their features, benefits, and pricing and suggests the most suitable options based on an individual’s budget, lifestyle, occupation, and visual needs. Sightly aims to simplify the complex process of lens selection, bridging the gap between clinical advice and consumer understanding, while empowering patients to make informed, value-based eyewear choices.
